It's interesting to look at the carbon buildup in relation to the direction of the spark plugs. I wonder if indexing them in the direction of the exhaust valves would be best for keeping things clean.

The engine was replaced under warranty.
I also have a complete list of measurements down to combustion chamber volume, I'll post up when I find it..
The clean cylinder is only clean due to the blown head gasket. The coolant does a nice job of steam cleaning off the carbon build up. You can also do this at home with a large syringe of water, metered very slowly into the intake whilst holding the RPM above 3000; be very careful, you can hydraulic lock the engine if you get too keen!Quote:
