How do you know when you need an update to the display audio with smartphone link? How is the update applied? Is it something the dealer has got to do? Thanks to all for any info.

How do you know when you need an update to the display audio with smartphone link? How is the update applied? Is it something the dealer has got to do? Thanks to all for any info.
Generally it's a dealer thing, but there IS a USB port on the back of the touchscreen Android auto/Apple car play unit. I'm sure you could find files somewhere. Otherwise I don't know of any updates, and Android auto updates on the phone, not the radio
