Cool - you're the closest forum member to me now. Previous is in Ottawa.
Too bad you didn't ask this question around Thanksgiving time - I could have come by for you to try out the CVT Mirage sedan I had on loan.
You're going to cut your fuel bill by more than half. Not to mention, it saves the Blazer for when you really need it. (If you have more than 1 car.)

That is ok. I was able to test drive a 2015 manual and a 2017 cvt at the dealership to get a feel for them both (did not have a 2017 manual to test drive).
And yes I was surprised to see multiple members in the surrounding area.

What dealership are you using?
Karuna Nong at Bank St Mitsu was super helpful to me when I dropped off the 2017 sedan and test drove a 2017 manual hatchback.
A month or 2 back, they had an interesting deal on a handful of "new" 2014 Mirages, both transmissions:
Thread: brand new 2014 Mirages in Ottawa, $5000 discount (top trim)

I was at bank st but with Sam amouna.
They had a couple 2015s that he was pushing but I would be financing at least part of the car and with 0% on the 207 and 5.5 on the 2015 the cost difference was not that much. They only offers me 2000 off the 2017 equivalent.
Was originally informed I could get their $2,700 incentive on the base model and add ac and Bluetooth for $1,300.
When I got there I was told that was a different trim level which does not have an inventive so almost $4000 more instead of $1,300.
Looking in with another dealer to see if that is true since 4000 for an air conditioner is a bit much.
I would contact your guy but I think his office was right beside the guy I worked with.

Yeah, I don't think you can get A/C on the base model 5-speed, which is the one they offer the perpetual $2700 manufacturer discount. That's the one they always advertise at $9998 + shipping & taxes.
Good luck with the hunt. Sounds kinda frustrating to me!

Welcome to the site.
I'm with MetroMPG. I'd probably go with the manual trans. I like to be engaged as well. If the hum of the engine drives you crazy though, you may want to go with the CVT... or install a bit more sound insulation. There are always options. :)

I learned 2 new things today by reading this thread...
1) You can get a Mirage without AC in Canada
2) K0e1x0 is a postal code (I had no idea what you guys were talking about ;) )
And a final tip for Troytroy40...
DO NOT BUY ANY MIRAGE UNLESS IT HAS HAD A 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND YOU HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE REAR ALIGNMENT IS WITHIN SPECIFICATION.
-
Yes lots of vehicles have a base model without ac.
And thanks for the advice about the alignment I will be sure to specify that if I end up getting one.
-
Top_Fuel... it's Canadian trivia day on the forum! :D
...
Yup, make it a condition of sale. It's really the only serious issue that has affected (some of) these cars.

I thought the accepted rumor was that Mitsu fixed the axle construction jig that was misaligned many months ago? Wasn't it like they had 4 jigs and one was out of whack or something?
sorry to thread jack. Also - I have a manual and I do lots of 4,000 rpm cruising. No issues and extremely little oil loss. Currently at 48K miles. I put on 20K last year. You just have to understand that 4K rpm is not hurting anything.
