That is a great find motormontreal! Thanks.
Is there a good/easy way of perhaps putting some plastic up/around the electrical connector to prevent water from getting to it?

If you have the ca$h you can get Weathertech custom floor liners;

Thanks, those are the mats that I thought of putting in mine. Thanks for the posts!!!
Mitsubishi has their own mats now I believe..
There was a set in the loaner I had. They look like weather tech but have Mitsubishi embossed in and no weather tech badge.

Weathertech group buy, like we did with the Ultra Racing bars?
^Ditto, those are some quality designed looking mats!! I would not mind the investment regardless if I lived near warm or cold temperatures year long! A+
That's actually enough reason for me to drop the money on Weathertech mats. Also, WD40 would be good for existing water contamination, as WD means "Water Displacing."
Simple solution to my opinion:
1. i'm using rubber floor mat anyway ... so less problem i think ....
2. Plastidip the whole floor up to the wiring. If you're scared water will go into the circuit, dip the whole circuit connector in a plastidip liquid solution.
