What those guys said is good / true. Unless it gets so warm at idle you can't stand it, you're probably good. There's no good way to know if your A/C system is charged with refrigerant properly, without doing a complete evacuation and recharge. It's not a bad idea. But me? If I were going to have someone else do it, I would a) only let an A/C repair specialist to touch it, and b) have to find some place that I 100% trust because I would be concerned with some place trying to play games.
So, I think you'd be fine to run it like it is. Besides, I thought it stayed cold year around in Nova Scotia...
