Here's a thread I started with too much information, now outdated but still might be useful to someone.

    Battery Size and Replacement

Costco still has the best value for batteries in my opinion. WalMart ain't too bad either. Stores that sell lots of batteries tend to have fresher stock that doesn't sit on the shelf for too long.

Also, generally speaking the heavier the battery, the more it can do. Not always, it's a quick estimation. For example if you have to choose between two different batteries and capacity not weight is your goal, consider the heavier one. Some batteries have big cases but less material inside, leading to less capacity & possibly shorter life depending on use.

A bigger battery won't help if it doesn't get charged properly.
A battery can not store more energy than gets stored on it.

Relevant fact #2: No word in the English language rhymes with "MONTH".

I have nothing useful to add, but i must say that it is shocking how little of a battery one of these cars needs. I fully expected the little garden tractor battery that Loren installed in Bluey to have shat the bed by now especially with the cold we have had recently. And have to give some credit to the solar trickle charger he installed as well, but it still seems as if it should have had SOME trouble to this point... but nope... happily spins the little 3 pot over a couple times and that is enough to get one of these going. Best cars ever.
