The battery was completely dead. After jump starting, all the dashboard lights were on, my tachometer was jumping around wildly and my ultragauge just said "scanning" and wouldnt display anything. it was running fine so I drove it around to charge the battery
Got back home, shut it off and noticed my ultragauge just stayed on constantly. Even with the keys removed and door open. I figured the first thing to do was a canbus reset. I did that by unhooking the battery and zip-tieing the battery cables together to drain the residual voltage.
After the reset my car was completely fine - drove to the gym, and when I came out the battery had held a charge. I have no idea what killed the battery and my second little camping battery setup is/was isolated from the factory system, was charged still, and its been in there a while so I don't think its related
heres a video of the dash and the tachometer jumping around - i dont know how to imbed it.
and yes its still dusty from my trip
the next day its nice out I plan to disassemble the lower kick panel and check all the connections near the footwell
If anyone has any other suggestions, or if anyones had something go bad and drain their battery - im all ears.
