Question How should I repair these scratches?

Rear driver side door. For scale they are the size of a US dime. But they appear to be deep, I passed my finger over it and I can feel it. Zoom in for a closer look.

Is this fixable with a DIY kit from online that matches the paint code? Or should I take it into the dealership, or a auto body shop, or a detailer?

Should I be concerned about rust? I see you're also from NE Ohio. I'm pretty new here.

I have zero helpful advice as well. Mine is full of racing strips Attachment 25961
If it won’t buff out you can buy a paint pen that’ll match from the dealer or maybe even online?

I'm leaning towards getting a touch-up pen kit from TouchUpDirect.

I work parts at a Mitsubishi dealer and sell paint pens every day. Go in with your VIN and they can get your paint code, or go in with your paint code and they'll order you a pen. Might even have it in stock, I try to keep one of everything we currently paint cars with.

    They're less than 30 bucks

Unfortunately, yes. Rust is a problem especially here in the Rust Belt.

Get yours treated or be prepared to use a car wash a lot to keep the rust in check. There are posts from forum members who have treated their Mirage with either Krown or Fluid Film which both really go a long way at keeping the rust to a minimum. One is applied at a dealership only (meaning a Krown shop), the other can be purchased and applied individually. One forum member in Germany (foama) faces the same road salt problems and has taken a different approach to rust, which has worked quite well for him.

Tackle this issue now while your Mirage is new and it will make a huge difference down the road. These cars can last a long time & many miles/kms (depending on your location...) as long as they don't get piled up in a crash or rust away.

So get yours treated. You'll be glad you did, and so will the next owner. These little cars are real gems, the last of their kind.

Oh and I wouldn't worry too much about the scratches. Maybe put some car wax over them.
