I guess we will continue with this thread since it’s the original thread. The car arrived at my place today and I will do some visual inspection and after work tomorrow I will bring the scanner and meter home. Almost every light is illuminated on the dash and it’s totally misfiring on one cylinder. Update you all soon!

Looks like a racecar. Must be the only blue one that's EVER had a problem.

Tonight I had time to work on this. First thing I scanned the codes and all were related to high voltage. I put the volt meter on the battery and with engine running it was almost 19 volts. I then checked all the fuses and fusible links on the battery. Since the OP stated he checked the wiring I went right to a pinpoint test from the alternator to the kick panel connector. This determined there was no continuity on the red wire. Tomorrow I start opening up the harness.

Awesome. i assume you did not see evidence of corrosion at the kick panel side. I would never have found the right pin to test, schematics make my brain hurt. Sounds promising.

Well finding the red wire from the alternator to the junction is a good starting point. BTW have you had a check engine light for a small evap leak? That code popped up along with the misfire code.

yes that evap code has been on and off for years I just ignore it.( because after reading about it I found out most guys live with it, Dealer techs couldn't solve it, something about putting some dye in the system and so on and it seems to run fine with or without the code on' all started one day when I when I went through a carwash with the underbody spray CEL goes out for 6 months then comes back for 6 months), You know there is a recall on the junction box for corrosion that makes the dash lights go crazy right? The guys here say it's usually the lower part by the floorboard ( have no idea where the wire is you tested ) and who knows could be the connector right into the alternator too. You got this I'm sure. You don't need my backyard mechanic advice

Well the original poster was on the right track and almost there. I already determined the red wire from the alternator was open circuit and tonight I started opening the harness. He stopped just short of the bad wire that had a green spot and was broken. After fixing this wire all the warning lights, misfire, and steering issues went away. We still have a small evap leak code but this has been going on beforehand.

He is on his way to pick up his car soon.
