Steve drove from Akron to my place to look at his car even though he had appointments made for other shops to look at it. He came to the right place. His Mirage was getting 18 MPG and missing on cylinder 1. He had misfire code, bank 1 lean code, and small evap leak. Steve had to wait at my place due to time constraints. I found a previous mechanic jumped injector one to injector number two with wires to cool the computer as you see in the picture. This car had multiple rubbed through wires in the harness. A few hours later and he is on his way home.

Thanks again for all your help today Johnny. With your knowledge of these cars you were able to find the issue within 5 minutes!

You're kind of a haul from me (100 miles) but well worth it and I'm glad I met you. Thanks again and keep on Miraging

Ps. Here's the post I told you about. That member had the same issue as me regarding the wiring harness (see bottom pics)

Johnny - Is there where most of the wires get their jackets rubbed through? At the cable clamps?

If so, I might go through all the cable clamps and redo them with a better support. One that doesn't tend to rub through.

I will be cutting my three clamps, inspecting, wrapping, and re-tying.

Please share/show how you end up redoing them. Thanks!
