@RedDE: I think getting Mitsu involved with the forum in some way isn't a bad idea. I've seen other boards where company reps monitor things to offer service & warranty advice, or answer general questions.
@CLARK: thanks! I hope I don't get a lemon too! I don't think I will. If you're referring to the unhappy Australian who posted here about fuel economy being lower than the gov. rating, I think it's probably not the car. That's pretty much what Mitsuman said, and I agree.
@kalifornia: Yeah, no pressure! The rally is on the weekend in the middle of my 2 weeks with the car, so I'll have some time to get used to it. I also still have to line up a navigator. That's very important. A navigation mistake can flush your chances of a top-3 finish, even if you have the best MPG. (Ask me how I know.) Aside from that, I also plan to do a few simple non-permanent mods to the car to help it out a little. Mostly aero stuff like the drivers did for the Vegas-LA competition. No, I don't think Montreal represents the "world series" of economy runs. More like the Olympics! I'm kidding. They're all different in their own ways.
@Ares: if you're happy, that's what matters. I bet it's better than the mileage you were getting from your Kia.
