Thread: Just asked Mitsu Canada for a Mirage to review... Update: it's a go!

  1. #21
@RedDE: I think getting Mitsu involved with the forum in some way isn't a bad idea. I've seen other boards where company reps monitor things to offer service & warranty advice, or answer general questions.

@CLARK: thanks! I hope I don't get a lemon too! I don't think I will. If you're referring to the unhappy Australian who posted here about fuel economy being lower than the gov. rating, I think it's probably not the car. That's pretty much what Mitsuman said, and I agree.

@kalifornia: Yeah, no pressure! The rally is on the weekend in the middle of my 2 weeks with the car, so I'll have some time to get used to it. I also still have to line up a navigator. That's very important. A navigation mistake can flush your chances of a top-3 finish, even if you have the best MPG. (Ask me how I know.) Aside from that, I also plan to do a few simple non-permanent mods to the car to help it out a little. Mostly aero stuff like the drivers did for the Vegas-LA competition. No, I don't think Montreal represents the "world series" of economy runs. More like the Olympics! I'm kidding. They're all different in their own ways.

@Ares: if you're happy, that's what matters. I bet it's better than the mileage you were getting from your Kia.

Can you get videos of just driving it around? Like winding road magazine?

You mean like the point-of-view GoPro type video? Sure.

For the Montreal fuel economy rally? Yup. Fortunately it's the same guy I've driven with and navigated for before. We should do OK.

    Update!

Red, base model Mirage confirmed for pickup this weekend. Base = "ES" trim in Canada. The major difference from the U.S. is a bit lower starting price, and no air conditioning. (In Canada, you have to get the uplevel SE trm to get air.)
