This explains why the 1.0L hasn't made it to many developing countries. The 1.0L touts 11.5:1 compression ratio! If you don't have high quality fuel you're going to have issues with that high of a compression ratio.

This 1l engine is more efficient then the 1.2l wish we could have the 1l as an option here in OZ.

We could use more images of engines and/or engine bays. If any of you guys can snap a picture it would be appreciated.

If the 1.0 litre would of been a option in the states i'd of easily gotten it. The 5 to 7 more hp of the 1.2 litre really isnt important in a car like this. Granted its already hard enough finding parts for the 1.2 so i'd hate to have a car with a even less common engine option.

Heres hoping for a 1.0 turbo in the future so I can trade up.

Probably we are going to have the 1.1 Turbo next year. If the MPG will be a like or better to Fiesta's Ecoboost and price is right, then it's going to be a brilliant car.

    Me too.

FYI, started a poll on the topic: Poll: 1.0L Mirage engine = 7.5% better fuel economy. Would you choose it?

Bumping an old thread with a new question....so the 1.0 uses an EGR port while the 1.2 has no EGR? If true I wonder if the 11.5/1 compression on the 1.0 needs EGR to stay cool?
