Where did you get the magnetic drain plug or what size is it? I want to get one as well, thanks.
About a thousand miles on my car ... the magnetic drain plug I bought is the AP-02 from Gold Plug
Thanks for the info! I noticed some sediments and a little bit of goop in my oil at 250 miles as well, but the oil was a light brown and slightly burnt wasn't as bad as yours was from it sounds like.
You're welcome! I wonder what the "goop" was ... probably just sludge ... I wish I had saved it and that oil for analysis.
I'm thinking assemble lube, maybe gasket maker. My camera on my phone wasn't cooperating to get a pic, but it should be interesting at 500 what it looks like.
As stated above . Very likely to be the sealant ( Form In Place Gasket ) from the factory . We had our YARIS engine repaired and that had particles in the oil and in the oil cap . The tech got a bit happy with the black Toyota F.I.P.G. ( Form In Place Gasket ) sealant . You may want to consider a U.O.A., just for kicks . We got a U.O.A. through Blackstone Labs ( http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ ) after this discovery of the black particles and all came back fine . Engine went on for another 50,000+ miles and hopefully still is . Traded it in .

I get my first oil change tomorrow ~7,500 mile. Dealer is doing it, now I want to watch what drains out. Hopefully if they see something they would say something.

They probably wouldn't notice or pay attention . Usually let it drain while doing other tasks . A U.O.A. would help confirm any issues and ease any concerns . Well worth the $25 > $30 including shipping / handling . May want to get a T.B.N. with the analysis at 5,000 > 7,500 miles to see how the oil is holding up . That adds a little more money . We go through Blackstone Labs , very good to deal with . Will take the time to talk to you over the phone . You can have the U.O.A. sent by e-mail , regular mail or both . Send the kit(s) for free with instructions .
