    Oil Filter Part Number

The original factory filter on the 2014 Mirage is part # 1230A105 (no anti-drainback valve??)
The filter specified by the Mitsu dealer is part # MZ690072 (the "small filter" generally used on 3/4-cyls), and MZ690116 (40um nominal, 13psi bypass, 109 sq in cellulose media surface, silicone ADBV ... the "large filter", generally used on 6-cyls) - both apparently fit the Mirage.

Filters in order of Most-preferred to least-preferred (personal preference):

    Wix: 51356 - full Wix warranty (better flow rate) - 95% @ 20 microns, 50% @ 6 microns
    NAPA Gold: FIL 1356 - looks like Wix warranties this - 95% @ 20 microns, 50% @ 6 microns
Mobil1: M1-110 - Warranty - full synthetic, expensive, intended for extended drain
NAPA Silver: SFL 31356 - looks like Wix warranties this, nitrile ADBV, ~80% @ 20 microns - higher bypass psi than Proselect - Made in USA
O'Reilly's MicroGard MGL51356 - comes with O'Reilly's standard 1yr warranty, nitrile ADBV, made in Mexico
NAPA Proselect SFI 21356 - looks like Wix warranties this, nitrile ADBV
    Donaldson: P502007 - Warranty - 50% @ 20 microns, Made in Indonesia
    Baldwin: B1402 - Baldwin's warranty - "99+% @ 45 microns and 50% @ 23 microns" (HC), nitrile ADBV?, made in USA
Hastings: - LF240 - Hasting's warranty - Same as Baldwin (HC), nitrile ADBV?
Fram: TG7317 ToughGuard or XG7317 Ultra Synthetic - unknown warranty details (slowest flow rate?)
K&N: PS-1010 or HP-1010, K&N Warranty, nitrile ADBVs, unknown filter efficiency ratings.

    Best Filter?

... for Initial Break-In Period - Wix 51356 or NAPA Gold
... After Break-In, For 3-6mo OCIs for Warranty - NAPA Silver
    ... for Extended OCIs after Warranty Ends - Amsoil: Absolute Efficiency Oil Filter (EA15K13) - Amsoil warranty - 98.7% @ 20 microns ... or the Microgreen MG101-7 - MG Warranty - Stage 1 Filter: 99% @ 20 microns. Stage 2: 99% @ 5 micron - Made in Mexico

    Personally Avoiding:

Purolator: P/L14610 - many reports of media tearing on BITOG, especially on the L14610 and PL14610
Mann: ML 1008 - made by Purolator?
Motorcraft: FL-822 - not warrantied for non-Ford applications

Amsoil specs 26-32 ft lb torque for the oil plug
Oil filter wrench size is 65-67mm/14 (for the standard MZ690072 or 1230A105 filters), otherwise use 80-82mm? for the MZ690116
    Oil filter torque: 12-20Nm? = 9-15 ft-lb?

Looks like the filter from the factory (1230A105) is nowhere to be found for purchase ... but mz690072 is available. The factory filter is maybe 3/4 the size of the mz690072 ... I wonder why the smaller filter was delivered from the factory, consider that it's the breaking in period for the car's engine.

Mobil 1 part number is M1-110, and K&N is HP-1010.

Oh man, you guys are awesome! I have been wondering recently what kind of filter (best brand/model #) to get when oil change time comes.

How are the Mobil 1's then? My old car..I just got whatever was cheapest at Wal Mart (and whatever they used at those quick lube places).

Right now, I'm liking the Wix and Motorcraft brands the best.

Not sure if it's true or not but Wix bought O'reilly's in house brand I've had like 4 different O'Reillys tell me that lmao, but if it is true that would be a good alternative.

It's supposedly true, the O'Reilly MicroGard (MGL51356) has the same part number as the Wix (51356). The MicroGard would likely be a low-end Wix Pro-Tec filter.
