    nice find, thx.

What do you think, is it more efficient to pull loads than to have them on the roof?
The wind exposed cross section of the car would suggest yes.

Hi, i also own a Smart Fortwo, in Canada you are not supposed to pull a trailer with it but in Europe its normal!
I would love to get a hitch or my Mirage and have a hitch carrier on it, very nice to have!!

In this country a tow hitch, even without towing, would get you in jail.

    That's not an issue here.

I've never had a vehicle inspected, & I have been driving since the 1970s. I have zero concerns about adding a hitch! Most vehicles I have owned have had a hitch installed.

Mitsu U.S. states that the total cargo weight (incl'd passengers) of the Mirage is just a little over 900 pounds. Subtract four 150lb persons, you'd only have ~350lbs left for other cargo (luggage) and the tongue weight of the hitch pushing downwards on the car ... not a lot of weight can be handled at all.

The only reason I can see for adding a hitch to a Mirage is to have a place to attach one of those little propellers that boat owners use to cover their hitch when not in use. Expensive accessory for a gag.
