What do you do for a living?

I am a slave of uncle SAM as I work for a branch of the local County doing IT work. Official title is Assistant Systems Administrator.

    What do you do?

As little as I can get away with!

Hope my clients don't see that... I'm a self-employed web developer.

    Negative.

The best programmers (and web developers count, I think) are the lazy ones... We automate things. Write code for everything... To make things easier for us.

I'm really more of a hardware guy, but this job opened up so I took it. Growing up and in school I hated programming. Until I realized that to make my life easier, I need to program some stuff.

So now, I hate programming a tad less.

Bogeyman: does that mean you do the "in house" ads for programming (such as when you see an ad for what's coming up on the next program)? Just say "writer" if it's too complicated.

    aydu: and before you retired?

I was with ABS-CBN from 1999 until the first half of 2010; my wife joined the network in 2003. Now she's still with ABS, while I've been with TV5 since 2011.

Exactly, Metro. In my previous job, we were referred to as "promo specialists". In my current network, we're called "promo producers"; a little less technical for the public-at-large (because they're familiar with the 'producer' part).

    Lucky you.

I tell people I'm semi-retired, and much of the time it certainly appears that way. Lately you wouldn't know it though. Too busy!
