    Bogeyman: does that mean you do the "in house" ads for programming (such as when you see an ad for what's coming up on the next program)? Just say "writer" if it's too complicated.

    aydu: and before you retired?

    I was with ABS-CBN from 1999 until the first half of 2010; my wife joined the network in 2003. Now she's still with ABS, while I've been with TV5 since 2011.

    Exactly, Metro. In my previous job, we were referred to as "promo specialists". In my current network, we're called "promo producers"; a little less technical for the public-at-large (because they're familiar with the 'producer' part).

    Didnt know we had a TV5... Either way, my mom worked at the ABS building back 8-9 years ago before we went to the US.

    Her call-center company was leasing a floor or two from the building...

    Formerly known as ABC-5, now TV5 under PLDT's MediaQuest. If you don't mind me asking, what was your mom's position at ABS? We might have worked together at some point.

    I'm a software developer. I have a full-time position with a multinational IT consultancy firm, and I also have some healthy side income. I'm young and single and saving up for some big plans for the next few years. The two jobs help pay for the car, too, and having not a lot of car helps. Hopefully I'll be "semi-retired" like a few of you are in a few years.

    @pureflipking:
    Thanks for your service. My brother just left for basic/USAF two or so weeks ago. I always told myself that if I just had a bigger pair of lungs that I would have loved to go into the AF... No matter how much I trained, I just ran out of air before I made my mile and a half or two.

    @Bogeyman: doubt it as she was employed by a call center. She was 2nd in command in the call center's HR division. Pretty sweet job if you ask me...

    @m4v3r1ck: trust me when I say: I know how you feel. Working for the government = no pay, but great benefits = broke. I did get a job offer for 10k more a few months back. When I calculated insurance, travel, retirement, and the two hour long drive every day - I said it was not worth it.

    @Donut: as a student? or as a job?

    @TheTransporter: Y'all get paid a lot
