All the oils on the U.O.A. displayed were S.N. .

I'm using 0w20 as recommended because of the low viscosity (less thick) creates less resistance. Means higher fuel economy and less CO2. On older cars it's not suitable because of the way the engine is engineerd, it will cause loud engine noise. This oil (0W20) is recommended for light cars and electric cars.

I'm pretty sure most modern electric motors, including ones used in the Tesla cars and Leaf, don't require oiling???

He might have been referring to the combustion engine or "generators" or "range extenders" that SOME electric cars have. I don't see anywhere in his post that he referred specifically to the leaf. The Volt, BMWs and Tesla cars all have a combustion engine as an option for extending range.

Does anyone know if this list of oil performance rankings is legitimate?

True, thank you for clearing that Ares. I am indeed referring to range-extension cars or "hybrid" cars. In Europe there are way more hybrid cars around than electric cars. (The famous Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is one of them).

I use 5w20 synthetic. It may have caused my mileage to go down, but that could also be my ZIIs.

Did my first oil change myself! Oil was dark and smelled a little burnt, and also got tons of metal specks!
