Good to know . Read at Tirerack that new tires get better traction after 500 miles due to the lubricant used during the molding process . How many miles are on yours ? Here's the article on tire beak in period . http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...e.jsp?techid=5

We had the Potenza RE92s' that were O.E.M. for the '08 Yaris sedan . They got good F.E. , but were horrible on wet roads . Felt like they could cut loose at anytime . Replaced those with Continenal Pro Contact w/ Eco Plus and made a big difference in handling for wet and dry .

I've got about 7k miles on them so far. I actually bought them from Tire Rack, and do a lot of research there.

Here they are on the '13 base FIT with a 5 speed auto . Will be $60 each before tax , that's if we get the $50 rebate . The 38.2 is when getting home with the RT 43s' . Was windy , rainy , upper 50s' , mostly uphill , original tires ( Dunlop SP 31 A/S ) and the 2 of us . They have 34 p.s.i. . Will bump 'em up to 35 or 36 tomorrow .

I'd say go ahead and bump them up to 38-40.

Set to 35.5 p.s.i.. Here's the start of the 1st tank with the RT 43s' . The 2 of us , steep hill to / from , winds of 20+ , mid 40s' , about 80 lb. groceries back , and possible winter blend of gas .

Took it for a spin earlier to get some pet food and got the gas mileage up . Was at 39.1 until city driving . 30 miles was on interstate at average speed of 60 . Was very windy the whole time on the road . Like them so far . Have to wait until next fill to see how close calculated gas mileage is to the display .
