Here are a couple of pics of the Hastings LF486 / Baldwin 1431 installed. Fits fine and it's way easier to get ahold of the filter for removal.

If the car sits over night or all day while I'm at work, it has the clattering sound, likely from somewhere in the the top end of the engine, for about 5 seconds after start. The oil doesn't appear to be low (tough to read because it's so clean). I've experienced this with much older cars, but never on a brand new one. I'm sure it's just because the oil has drained out of the head, so it's noisy until it's pumped back up there immediately after start.

I like the idea of the slightly heavier oil, but wonder if this would cause a hit in the mileage. Anyone have comments on that? Or how about the momentary clatter on start up if the car sits for about 8 hours? I'm not too concerned about this, but it would be interesting to know if this is typical of the car, or if it's sort of unique to mine. If the latter were the case, I might bring it up to the dealer, tho I'm sure they's say 'normal behavior'.
I've had no noticeable issue with mileage whether using 0W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30, or 10W-40. Now that the daily high temperatures in my area is 100F+, changing 5W-30 to 10W-40 worked beautifully, and I no longer notice any clatter.

I noticed much less "sewing machine" noise when I switched to 5W-30 at operating temperature. No difference in mileage either.

Looks like that hose would get in the way of installation/removal. Have you noticed any problems or even any rubbing marks on the filter?

Don't think of it as chatter - it's applause.

Doesn't rub against the radiator hose (it's close but never makes contact). Easy install from the bottom since the filter is longer it's much easier to get threaded.

Have valve train noise under load.
New Mirage Juro 3, about 3500 miles, unleaded petrol 95 RON from same petrol station (Tesco). Does it worth to try another petrol, 97/98 RON?

I understand there is no valve adjustment. I also understand that fuel choice will not affect this.

Please forgive my brief post. I'm pretty sure there is a more thorough explanation in this thread. Some Forum members have noticed valve noise improvement with a slightly thicker engine oil.

in the service manual, it says to check it. adjustments of any sort before 12,000 miles is covered by warranty.

if my valves were rattling at any point during loaded operation, i know with 3500 miles, ide be in the dealer

service manual section 11a, shows entire process... looks like a pita..
