Heads up: A/C condensation drain comes loose easily

My wife found some water in the passenger footwell -- I went out assuming there was some dirt or crud in the drain line and it was backing up -- but discovered that the drain line had come loose from the bottom of the A/C unit. Water was just draining out onto the (luckily rubber) floor mat. The hose doesn't make a very tight connection so I am assuming that one of our large-footed teenagers knocked it loose (who knows how but I have stopped being surprised).

Some did end up dripping behind the floor mat so the carpet is wet -- so I have a portable fan going on it this afternoon.

Would you mind posting pictures of where the hose is? Might be something people could fix before it becomes a problem

It's not really anything to "fix" -- just something to watch. I might put a zip tie or a hose clamp on it if comes off again. It slipped back on really easily and is looser than I expected.

It is on the bottom of the A/C evaporator unit behind the glovebox. There's a little spout on that triangular piece the juts out on the bottom.

Here is a general shot of the area so you can get an idea of where I'm talking about:

And a close-up of the hose itself:

Mine looks ok. I'd put a clamp or tight it with a wire.

I don't use my AC/CC very often. But I will try and keep an eye out for this.

i had one come loose on a road trip. I think my wife was sliding the weather tech floor mats a little and knocked it loose. needless to say it flooded the entire passenger side under the weather tech floor liners and under the carpet.

ill be adding hose clamps to both cars tomorrow!
