It seems some of the guys knows japanese. I know a bit. Mitsubishi should be pronounced plainly as what it is spelled in roman characters - MI - TSU - BI - SHI.

The guy they surprise says Mitsubishi like I do. I pronounce it Mitsu-bih-she. First time I have heard someone else pronounce it like that.

    I have also heard:
    Mitsubeeshee (most common)
    Meetsubeeshee

I also pronounce Nissan wrong. I say Nissin not Knees-on.
Wait, you're a yank who says Nissan correctly?
Need to buy you a beer mate!

lol. Co-worker and I were just talking about this. She has a hard time pronouncing it. She pronounced it "Mits-shoo-bit-chee". Embarased, I told co-worker that it's simply 'Mit-soo-bee-shee'

Age-ism alert! The older people I know are more likely to butcher the name.
