European cars can be geared longer because they know how to downshift when they need power and journalists won't scream that the car is gutless because they expect to pass someone on the highway in 5th gear. Same with the Honda fit, our 1.5l Fits are geared shorter than their 1.35l Fit.
why would it go further 5000 rpm? it's a CVT, staying in the best powerband available.

Maybe because peak power is at 6000rpm and not under 5000??!!

and even to get up to 5000rpm, it takes a while. By the time I hit 5000rpm, I'm driving 50-55kph maybe.

Peak power is 6000rpm. Power makes cars accelerate faster.

That's exactly what I want, to go faster.

Don't deny the evidence, to get faster on a flat road, the best way to do it is to stay close to the peak power.

How to check the CVT oil. In park engine running? Neutral engin running? Neutral engine off? Park engine off? Can't find anything about it... When to change it, and how often?
