I tested mine today on the interstate. It worked at speeds up to 70 mph, so I guess it's not speed sensitive in the U.S.

A Mirage / The Quirk / Some Hot Chocolate

    A Mirage:

    The Quirk:

If you have a "Fast Key", hold onto to it with the buttons face up and notice the small red LED at the top of it...

Now, get into your Mirage and leave the door open.

While seated, focus back in on that LED at the top of your "Fast Key" fob.

When you close the door, see if the LED gives you a bright red confirmation that you've just closed your door...

The Mirage has no belt, it has a chain.

In my service manual it says that you can change all electronic features on your car exactly to your liking. You need to go to the dealership, tell him what you want to have changed, how you want it and they should be able to reprogram the computer(s).

I don't know if this is a quirk, or a feature, or even what the purpose is... But I'm going to ask here.

There is a lever on the top of the transmission, that the clutch cable pulls when you step on the clutch.

That lever has a painted curved black part on it that looks for all the world like a handle. Anyone know what it is for? Feels like you could pull on it and release the clutch.

Perhaps it is to protect the clutch cable?

    Picture is below.

Just go to your dealership and have the computer reprogrammed to "European" unlocking and locking. It is specifically mentioned in my owner's manual that you can change the behavior of virtually all electronic functions of your car that way.

For CVT owners, we have a "phantom gear shift" that occurs anywhere from 38 mph to about 62 mph depending on acceleration rate. But it's not a phantom gear change at all, it is a true gear shift.

Our CVT transmission has a high and low primary gear, then the CVT on top of that. This is what allows the car to turn high rpms at low speed, and turn low rpms at high speed.

That lever thingy lets you feel your clutch freeplay, as you are adjusting it ! Awesome !!!!
You could actually disengage the clutch by pushing that lever twords the rear of the car...
