Poking for a picture and an update on how you're liking the full grill block?

I never did the full grill block, but actually did one Pipe in the bottom..
And did it do something? Im not sure... :P
Maybe it gets warmer, maybe 1-2 minutes before, but nothing big.. And is was not cold enough to block it more, maybe one - two days, so i dropped the idé again.
(But im still having the one pipe on right now, and it gets max. 93 Celsius / 199Fahrenheit.. On highway or city driving)

Donut, what did you do as far as blocking your grill? Spring is right around the corner, so I'm wondering how you're planning on handling that too.

I've run a full grill block on a few of my cars. My commute is 7 miles at mostly 45 mph. Even with a full grill block on my Prius, it doesn't get fully up to operating temperature on such a short commute in winter.

A scangauge or ultragauge is a great way to monitor coolant temps. If you want to get off cheap, wire a light in parallel with your radiator fan. If it comes on a lot, its time to open the block up more.
    But mirage does

I like to check the top and bottom hoses, in particular the bottom hose which tells me the temperature of the coolant re-entering the engine. Too hot and the cooling fan runs too much. My bottom grille is almost completely blocked. Top is open.

22 miles today 63.2 mpg. Higher average speeds than yesterday when I hit 66.7 mpg

    regards

That foam grill block is interesting. I'd suggest just blocking 2 and keep the bottom one always open. You want some flow always happening in the bay...
