How does the painted part of the side mirror come off? (Removal for painting)

    A question.

How does the painted part of the mirror come off without breaking it?

Mine is not painted, and I want to get it done.

No. After you remove the actual mirror glass, behind it are tabs you can push to remove just the covers.

It should snap in. Be careful to avoid cracking the glass.
