    Awesome!

    I figured if I was destroying the stock speakers then I wanted a solid mount that I didn't have to worry about, and I'm leaving those speakers in place. But there are people that don't feel comfortable with cutting on their brand new car, so for those people, your method works perfectly!!!!

    In for this info.

    Also, it seems that the stock stereo and or speakers are way WEAKER than the fronts. If the Headunit does not pump out enough juice for the rear speakers, changing the speakers wont help any.

    Any info on this would be great.

    @Ares,

    I changed my rear speakers and will change soon my front speakers too. My first thinking was, hey I do not hear any difference . Next I will look for an amplifier which can be connected at the stock stereo I guess.

    Here some photo's, I used orginal mounting point too and used a hacksaw to cut the middle out.

    I have now ordered spacer rings and will remount them. I do not get my side panel closed nearby the speaker (2 notches popping out everytime) and I didn't gave attention to look at the tweeters. crutchfield is selling these kickers with spacer rings for the mirage.

    @Daox, I can make a photo but it will not tell that much, maybe it is clearer when I say doorpanel at the bottom nearby the speaker is not connecting good when I put it back. When I press the doorpanel then the plastic fasteners clicks in but also clicks out after some seconds.

    Isn't the spacer going to make that worse?

    I will see that when I have them :-). The speaker spacer has a 2cm upstanding edge and the original speaker holder was when I remember correctly an upstanding edge from arround 3 cm. As an alternative I can place the speaker deeper in the original holder too, but that gives some more work .

    When I recieve the speaker spacers I will change my front speakers with polkaudio DB651s and will then decide to reuse the orginial holder or using the speaker spacers.
