    Basic radio display backlight off

Does anyone know how to turn off the backlight on the basic version of the radio? Mine is permanently orange and I don't want it. The tail light (ILL+) circuit that illuminates dash ect doesn't effect it apart from slightly dimming it. Some Mirages on Google seemed to have been able to disable it.

the orange radio backlight only turns on with the illumination circuit signal for me. If you connect the illumination wire on the radio to ground does it turn off the backlight?
please consider checking out my Mirage related youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6c...IEViRFw/videos

I haven't touched the ground side of the illumination circuit, I did depin the positive side which killed the button lights, but not the screen.

I'm not sure why connecting the ill- ill+ to ground would have any effect on it, as of right now it shouldn't be getting any power at all.

Before I had touched anything normal behavior was that it was orange when the key was in acc or start and if the lights were turned on it would slightly dim the screen but not turn it off.

I think a similar brand monitor would also look good in the rear seats
