Uh-oh, CVT problems! (Update: replaced under warranty)

On my way home from work today my transmission indicator started flashing and the cruise control quit working. After shutting the car off and restarting the check engine light also came on. I checked the error code on my new obdii scanner and got code P0876 and some text about low fluid pressure on "D" circuit?

It's at the dealer right now and I have a loaner car.

I will update as soon as I hear something.

Here is the exact error code:

    P0876 - Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch D Circuit Range/Performance

The service department just called and said they had to keep the car over the weekend! So I'll enjoy the Hyundai Santa Fe sport they gave me.

Call me crazy, but I would find it hard to enjoy a Hyundai Santa Fe instead of a Mirage.

Haha I was thinking the same thing.
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

Yes I tend to agree with you, seeing as the Santa Fe got only 27mpg. And that's MID mileage! It's probably actually lower. LOL.

    Any update on this?

Unfortunately, this is the Nature of JATCO CVTs - extremely unreliable.

I've heard about problems with Nissan/Jatco CVT's in the past. (It caused the company to offer an 10-year extended warranty to calm fears).

    But...

Keep in mind this specific transmission model (JATCO CVT7) has been in production for 5 years now, and in the Mirage for coming up to 3 years, globally, as well as multiple other cars (Nissan Versa/Note, Chevy Spark & more). If there were problems, I'd think we'd know about them by now.

That said, I'm curious to hear an update too.
