So far so good, 3 weeks and 700 km the clock is right on....unlike the twin JVC head units I installed in my fortwo & my Tacoma....I might as well as had put an hourglass in the dash.

Hahaha mine went crazy at random time and then went right all by itself. I always wears wrist watch anyway so no problem with time keeping

I checked the clock over 1 week. It gained 14 seconds. That's 2 second per day, or about a minute per month. May not seem like much, but I find it a pain to not have the right time considering that other car clocks are extremely accurate. I'll see what the dealer will do.

Funny to see how ppl can get annoyed by small things ... like clock ... hang loose, if you're late so be it ;-)

Yes, it's funny about people's obsessions -- like detailing their car every week. lol. I'm worried about my clock gaining a minute a month because that's 12 minutes a year or 2 hours in 10 years. Will my 10 year warranty run out 2 hours early?

I think this clock stuff is kind of funny to but tonight most of us in the US have to set our clocks ahead an hour for DST. This will give us a chance to set our clocks for a fresh start..

Actually mine is pretty accurate.
Please keep in mind, that these clocks use a crystal (quartz) in resonance to keep the pace. Just as a common wristwatch does.
In a car, there will always be considerable temperature variations, and the resonance frequency of the crystal changes with temperature, because its physical size changes a tiny bit with temperature. A big bell sounds lower than a small one, just as a warmer crystal is a bit bigger and makes the clock slower. These circuits almost always have some form of temperature compensation, but no compensation works perfect. Thats electronics, and electronics are all about physics.

That actually makes sense...
But doesn't explain why my 9 yr old Jeep parked next to my car using same clock tech does not suffer same issue, nor does my ATV.
Will weld for beer.

Maybe there is something wrong with it.
Btw, some clocks synchronize themselves via FM radio, same principle as with mobile phones or teletext on TV's.
It's Einstein's Theory of Relativity at work. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_dilation
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... stuff.
