heated mirrors U.S.? (Canada has them)

I know the Mirage for sale in Canada has heated mirrors. Yet, it is not an option in the U.S. Does anyone know if I were to get heated mirrors from a dealer in Canada, would they just plug in and turn on with the defroster in my U.S. Mirage ES? Or do you think it would have to be wired in somehow? I have owned vehicles with and without heated mirrors. The ones without did end up pissing me off in the winter, so I would like to avoid this and get heated mirrors installed.

I'd start by looking at the wiring going to your mirror. Does it have an unused connector/pin?

I know that the heated mirrors are controlled by the rear window heating button.

armybaby, I see this is your first post. Welcome to the forum.

I looked for part numbers for outside mirrors but was unable to find anything on the heated ones. I'll keep looking. In the meantime, here's what I found:

Mitsubishi Parts Warehouse: 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES - Body Hardware - Front Door - Outside Mirrors - Mirror Assembly

Part No Mirror Assembly MSRP Online Savings
    7632B279 W/TURN SIGNAL Left $516.60 $397.43 $119.17
    7632B280 W/TURN SIGNAL Right $516.60 $397.43 $119.17
    7632B805 W/O TURN SIGNAL Left $269.32 $206.85 $62.47
    7632B806 W/O TURN SIGNAL Right $269.32 $206.85 $62.47
    Notes:
    1. Don't break your mirrors kids! They are quite costly for what they are.
    2. Mirror covers are separate part numbers and are available to match body colors.
    3. I'm not sure there is a difference between LHD and RHD for the side view mirrors.

In reference to the chart I posted above, I was thinking of the prices of just a simple mirror for this car. I had to replace a left-hand side-view mirror on my Focus last year - I had parked on the street and someone must have sideswiped it and knocked it off.

Anyway, I searched and found the best price online and ordered a replacement. A motorized left-hand mirror for that car cost about $25. That's a big difference in price.

It also got me thinking about how insurance claims adjusters calculate repairs. I'm not sure at what point an insurance company would total a car out... Parts prices that high will make it tough to repair these cheap little cars and keep them on the road.
