I remember they got around the chicken tax by only importing the cab and chassis... and making/installing the bed here in the US. Dad had an '86 Isuzu p'up he bought new, and you could tell the bed was a completely different grade of steel from the cab.

That's why 80's Toyota pickups with a 2WD drivetrain had a different bed than the ones with the 4WD drivetrain; two different import locations with different suppliers for the beds.

Seriously, with a diesel, would this^^^^ not sell well in the US? I would think at least as well as the mirage....

I stumbled across this https://corporativogrupocajeme.com.mx/l200/ That can't be right. A 2019 Diesel L200 with 24,000miles for $10,400! Maybe google is out to lunch with the Mexico to USD conversion? If not then I gotta start looking into importing vehicles from Mexico!

I must admit that I have seen two or three different L200 (or Tritons) in Wisconsin in the past year or so. I've noticed them at stoplights where I had a good look at them, & I am quite certain that I am awake (not dreaming).

They must be coming from somewhere? I suspect our southern border, but I am not thinking Illinois!

That's cool! I would like a mirage with a Subaru brat type body style.
