"service engine soon" (light on brand new Mirage)

Today at dealership in LA bought and drove 100 miles home a new 2014 Mirage ES. Nearing hometown, saw wrench-symbol above odometer. In my driveway, turning car off, saw this: "Service Engine Soon." Anyone else had this experience? It seems...abnormal. (Car had 148 miles on from dealer, now has approx 248.)

They didn't set the reminder right, I got my reminder after 10.000 km while they should turn on after 20.000 km. I called them and they told me to go back there to set the reminder correctly, but I'm too lazy to go back so been driving around for 6.500 km with reminder on the whole time. I just don't see it anymore hahaha.... it's not like it's an annoying lamp that burns in your eyes so it's easily ignored.

Yes, I got my first wrench symbol over the odometer as well when I hit 5500 miles. It's just a reminder for maintenance at whatever set interval is chosen. Just go into your owner's manual where it details what the wrench symbol is for and it will tell you how to reset it, it's really easy. I actually wish I could turn mine off for good b/c I myself am being very meticulous about the maintenance on the car that the wrench symbol is immensely useless.

    Definitely abnormal.

Are you literally 100 miles from your dealer? Sounds like they need to address it.
