    Ha! That's great!

My guess is our Philippine members are seeing G4 sedan taxis by now, but I never would have expected to see a Mirage taxi in the U.S.!

Tells you how important total cost of ownership / running costs are to cab companies. And we know the Mirage is tops:

    > US: Mirage is #1 best bang for your buck -- Cars.com

    > Mirage is cheapest new car to own/run in Australia, NZ (RACV/RACQ/NRMA)

Thats cool! I agree with Darin, I'm surprised to see one in the US considering the size. But very cool!

They run in the shoals area. .. kinda small place. The only complaint they have is their having to replace the breaks about every 15k miles.

These would be good cars to keep tabs on. If they pile on the miles, they might give us a peek into the future for mechanical/maintenance issues.

I agree. I'm planning on a check in with them every month or so.

    Same here.

The smallest taxis I see running around my small city are a last generation Honda Civic (~2006-11), and a last gen. Nissan Sentra. Both sedans.

They have 2 of these. One is a DE, the other an ES. I'm happy to hear they drive them hard enough to wear out the brakes on 15k. That means we'll get to see how they hold up when abused. As kissfan and I have discussed privately, I've never seen these cars without being fully loaded with grossly overweight people. When I first saw the ES in front of a Walmart marketplace, at first glance I thought someone had put a lowering kit on it it was sitting so low. I'm certain that none of the 4 occupants weighed less than 250lbs.
