I'll be taking on a similar endeavor myself, since I finally went and picked up a $20 set from AutoZone. Not quite sure how they'll attach without putting screws through the bumper, but I'll have all day Monday to install them.

I'm sure that I'll enjoy doing it, but would have rather a lot less work.

I also just did the fog light mod a couple of days ago. Purchased the kit from ebay. Didn't need the wiring harness that came with the kit. Factory harness plugged right into the lights. Took it to the dealer for activation. Also had to purchase the relay. Good to go. Also replaced the regular bulbs with yellow nokya s1 bulbs. Very happy with the way it turned out. Need to get some good night pics, but in the meantime...

im not trying to change the entire thread, just curious if anyone thought about just removing the headlight instead of everything that you did. I will get a set here fairly soon and try. i count 6 bolts on each side and they are out and able to get you arm straight down with tools to work.

I never thought of that, I'm all for something that makes the job easier/quicker....maybe take some photos to show us how it went?

I know on the X you have to take off the bumper in order to remove the headlights. At quick glance it looks to be the same on the mirage. I didn't try it though. I had no problem going in from underneath. I just removed half the liner and pushed the rest back. Like posted above, if you try it and it works let us know.
