Bought and Crashed in the Same Day

Hello, I am Ryan. Just to give a little back round I was driving a Jeep until the engine broke about three hours from home. Then I was searching for cars and came across the Mitsubishi Mirage. I just fell in love with the style and the gas mileage and all of its features. So my mom and I go and look at one today, and we purchased it!!! Its a 2014 Silver DE CVT.

Then fast forward two hours later and I go visit my old Jeep to get some stuff out of it, and I am on the way home. I was driving and another car obnoxiously passed me, and another car was exiting the highway and ran their stop sign. So the car that was passing me slammed on their brakes after cutting right in front of me and I didn't have enough time to stop so I slammed into the back of them. I didn't get hurt, and my Mirage kept me safe. But it looks pretty bad. My steering wheel airbag and my knee airbag deployed. The car also surprisingly still starts and drives. I have really good insurance so we are going to get it fixed and I will drive a rental until then, but wow. First car accident today and I survived! My mom was really worried that the Mirage wasn't going to be safe in the event of an accident but I was going 45 mph and hit someone that slammed on their brakes and left without a scratch.

Nice to be apart of this forum though. I have been reading everything I could find before I got the Mirage and you guys really sold me on the car. Glad I got it even though I can't drive it right now.

Hey Ryan. OK, that's quite an introduction. What a crummy first day with the car!

Anyway, welcome to the forum! Keep us posted on what happens.

    Darin

So this is what it looks like in daylight. Yesterday the adjuster said it was totaled. But the dealership I bought it from said they are getting a Red ES in soon so I'll probably get that. Meet my best friend posing next to my totaled car.

Yeah, I had a much slower collision during rush hour on I66 and they totalled it out. But that really sucks!

    Finally got another one :)

SO, after waiting a week and a half for insurance to take care of what they needed to take care of, I am now a proud owner of a brand new 2015 White ES CVT. I love everything about it. On the way home (mixed driving) from the dealership I got 46mpg. Now today I get to take my first little road trip to Midlothian (about 1:40 hours away) for practice. Everything is working out
