Alternative oil filter with anti-drain and bypass features

Since my mirage rattles for the first seconds upon starting, I thought it would be better to have an oil filter with an anti-drain feature, rather than listening to an unlubricated engine.

A web based search brought up this:

    Oilfilter, brand: MANN
    Type: 610/3

it features anti-drain valve plus emergency bypass valve

Could you take a video of the rattle that you're talking about?

Sorry, don't have any equipment for that...

The sound is the engine making much louder running noises right after starting for maybe a second or two or even three. The noise then normalises almost instantly. There is no noticeable difference in revs before and after. Its just the noise any engine makes without lubrication.
This can not be good for any engine, hence the need for an oil filter with an anti-drain feature, that the original part apparently does not have.

With the anti-drain feature such as in the Mann W610/3, the oil doesn't drain back to the sump after turning the engine off. Therefore it takes much less time on start-up to achieve proper pressurized lubrication.

MANN is one of the very largest European manufacturers, and you can see their products in just about any car or truck.
The type W610/3 is actually very common. It fits in many models from Opel, Chevrolet, Fiat, Alfa, Ford, Smart, etc., and also fits in many engines of the last European made Mitsubishi Colt, and of course for the Mirage. In the States you might source it from a different manufacturer, and there are many with similar suitable products.
