I don't believe this is true. It appears the standard coverage AND powertrain warranty reduce to 5yr/60K. It isn't just the powertrain once the car is sold secondhand. Correct me if I'm wrong though, the warranty lingo can be hard to read sometimes.

That's why if your in the market for a new car your Better off in many ways to go for a new one. Instead of a used one. Because with the High cost of repair the warraunty protects you in that way. Because as cheep a DE is everyone could afford a new car. Mitsubishi deserves a lot of credit to offer a new car for the price

My dealership told me that its a power train only warranty 5/60k. The bumper to bumper is for first owner only, the first owner only gets a 5 yr 60k bumper to bumper brand new off the lot. If a Mitsubishi certified dealership certifies the car it can have a better warranty.

    Wow,

    Thanks you guys!!!!

I was about to buy a used 2015 DE and I would have only saved $1500 versus buying new but I had no idea that my bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty would be shrunk down like that (as the second owner)

Yes, I will certainly buy new instead thanks to the good advice on this thread.

Hey, I haven't read this whole post i know the answer tho. I work for Mitsubishi. The warranty to the 2nd or 200th owner is Remander of 5y/60k comperhensive Bumper to Bumper warrenty. It is a good way to go you can get a 100k full warranty for peanuts after. Hope this helped.

Are you saying its a good way to go to buy it new or that its a good way to go to buy it used and then add on a 100k warranty for peanuts?

I got it well.... I do work at the dealer so i am guessing i got every thing for really good prices. so i dont have my paper work in front of me but i got it for like $900.00. I am think to the public it would prob be like $1,200-$1,500 but that is a platinum coverage. so it covers everything but wear items.

This is very interesting. Not that the general public can get that warranty coverage for that price, just that it is available. I have another question - it this extended coverage only available if the car is bought at the dealership? What about private sales?

Tuesday this week i will post our new incentives from the 15 to the 17. so you can know what your looking at compared to both,. With a used one you still get Road Side ASSt. and the Bumper to Bumper Coverage. Some ppl dont relize this. Also if your buying from a Mitsubishi Dealer you know they are going to the right thing with the car not just sweep the problems under the carpet per-say.
