    My Mirage Saved My Life!

My 2014 Mirage saved my life on Christmas Day!

While I am very surprised that the airbags did not deploy the car still saved my life!

Thank you Mitsubishi! Once the insurance co & bank get their respective acts done, I'll likely buy another!

    Yes, thanks for asking!

I spent two days in ICU and they let me go...had a little blood on the brain and a lot of bangs and bruises. A few cuts too but nothing major. Still have a bit of a light headache but I'm alive.

I'm 61, stubborn, a little on the "bulky" side and built like one of those barrels you see in a rodeo....in other words, very tough and resilient! LOL Just not ready to have the dirt tossed on me yet!!

Helluva a car! I am really impressed! Still strange about them airbags though!

Yes normally the airbag are tied to the front crashbars, I never seen a head on collision to that extent that did not deploy the airbags, you could probabally go after mitsu for that... I know someone who went after GM and won because her face was torn to shreds by an unpadded arm-rest (manufacturing error). She got quite a heap of money from that, im not sure of the exact ammount but she took a very early retirement and she is almost always on vacation now.

Could be related to the multiple airbag sensors failure ...

I am very impress with how the interior of the car is still intact. I am glad to know they are safe little buggers. I have an oil change coming up and plan to have them check my airbags. Maybe this is an idea for everyone, so Mitsubishi of America will see that there is a high level of concern going around. There has been many recalls lately and only we, the drivers can be proactive on the issues. Please do let us know if you find anymore information on why your airbags did not deploy, If you do not mind. Very glad to see you are safe!!

I certainly wouldn't thank them for anything. I'd be really upset the airbags didn't deploy.

I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

Wow! Glad to hear you are ok.

Looks like the vehicle was hit from the side more than the front. This could have disconnected the wiring going to the airbag sensors.
Especially on the drivers side you can see wires that have been pulled off.

Just pure conjecture at this point.

Good luck with the insurance etc..
