From Belgium this week, the first news I've seen of the sedan coming to Europe:

the Mitsubishi Attrage officially debuted in Europe yesterday at the Brussels Motor Show.
The only engine is the 1.2L (remember, Europe and Japan also have a 1.0L option in the Mirage/Space Star).

    Specs ...

    • Engine: 1.2L = 80PS (79hp) @ 6,000 rpm, 106Nm (78lb-ft) torque @ 4,000 rpm
    • Transmissions: standard 5-speed manual and optional CVT
    • Curb weight: 930 kg (2,050 lbs) (85 kg / 187 lbs more than the hatchback)
    • Trunk/boot volume: 450 liters / 15.9 cu. ft.

    Pricing...

    • base: €13,390 (about $15,560) in Belgium
    • add €1,000 for the CVT

Full article (including lots of negative comments from the readers)...

I wonder what suspension differences, if any, this car has. I would assume AT THE VERY LEAST a tad stiffer springs and better shocks in the rear.

    Good question.

When the sedan launched in Australia, one review said: "Mitsubishi wisely revised the steering and suspension ... it drives a lot better than the hatch"

But it didn't provide any details.

Mitsubishi UK told me in an email that there are "currently no plans" to import the Attrage to the UK market. I think that's the right decision really, saloons don't sell here unless they're big.

    Thanks for that tidbit, Teasmade.

Dumb Question of the Day: when people on your side of the Atlantic say "Europe", is that understood to include the UK too?

Yup, there's otherwise no other continent to put UK into, right? Certainly not Asia

Generally, yes. However I'd say it's also true that we in the UK will often regard Europe as where the Europeans live Mainly because we're British, whatwhat, tally ho, by jingo, etc(!!)...

From a car perspective there does tend to be quite a difference between UK and Europe (or perhaps 'Rest of Europe') spec - Steering wheel position aside. Oddly, cars for the Republic of Ireland tend to follow the Europe spec.
