Of course the savings with the Mirage are tiny compared to a 'full' hybrid with a dedicated 2nd battery and electric assist motor. It would be interesting to find out what percent fuel economy improvement Mitsu thinks it makes.
    Agrees!

I kinda do this in a way already I only use my rear defrost when I am going down the mountain grade home during the winter. I wish we had that feature in North America, it may not save much mpg but over time every little bit helps!

Does anybody know why Japan mirages get better drag coefficient ratings?

And Europe ... because Japan and Europe has sharper emission regulation. Less aerodynamic means engine has to work harder which means more emission. In Holland (up to 2013) owning a Mirage means driving a 100% tax free car, they have rolled back this regulation but this car because of the weight of it, cost very little to own.

I found the diagrams last year, too, and used them to make the driving performance diagrams, comparing Mirage 1.2 (US), Space Star 1.2/1.0 (ECE), Daihatsu Cuore 1.0 and Geo Metro 1.0. Maybe you want to put my thread in the engines and transmissions sticky index?
