It might be interesting to massage the milage data by date, trans, and country (so you could get cold weather effects). Seems like the CVT takes a big milage hit warming up the transmission but might do better than the manual in warm seasons or climates.

    400,000+ miles tracked

Yeah, the CVT would definitely suffer more than the manual in cold weather (warm-up hit).

We already have results broken down by engine size and transmission type, if you click into the details here: View detailed fuel economy stats

    ---

And we just passed the 400k mile mark in the stats (600k+ km).

I've been watching the total milage figure. Climbs pretty fast. Just reached 13,000 on my CVT today. Lifetime average using gas receipts and odometer is 46.82 and it should be going up with the warmer temps..

MetroMPG, being new to Mirage and having the ES with CVT with your attaining 400000 miles in your opinion what kind of physical changes, mechanical and sound wise can I expect with normal South Texas driving, very little ice hardly any snow and fairly hot 100+ summers. Any thoughts on this and solely if you have time to share your experience.

Oh - the 400k miles is referring to the collective distance that forum members have tracked using our fuel log: http://mirageforum.com/forum/emgarage.php

    I don't even own a Mirage... yet.

MetroMPG, to defend my question, I used to have a Triumph TR6 that I got 434000 miles on with just one rebuild on the inline six. Just thought I would throw this in so as not to seem way out in left field!!!
