Now we're closing in on one million kilometers in our fuel log! Just passed 600k miles last week.

    Current stats show:

    603,292 miles

    5.5 L/100 KM 51.4 MPG (UK)

    1.2L Mirages
    Both transmissions
    109 cars
    42.8 MPG (US) = 18.2 KM/L = 5.5 L/100 KM = 51.3 MPG (UK)
    CVT automatic only
    54 cars
    40.6 MPG (US) = 17.3 KM/L = 5.8 L/100 km = 48.8 MPG (UK.)
    5-speed manual only
    55 cars
    44.9 MPG (US) = 19.1 KM/L = 5.2 L/100 KM = 53.8 MPG (UK)

    1.0L Mirages 5-speed manual

    45.1 MPG (US) = 19.2 KM/L = 5.2 L/100 KM = 54.2 MPG (UK)

    Cool

Well my CVT Did Really Great!!! I got 50.5 MPGS going 70 to 75 mph! And if I wouldn't of had wind and trucks to fight I think it would of got a little bit better MPGS so that beats all these other Automatics . And if I would of kept it at 60mph and no higher I think it would of got close to 55 mpg

Interesting that it's almost a 50/50 split automatic vs. manual. I've got to assume that they sell far more automatics than manuals in NA. I guess it's not surprising that many people who track their fuel, opt for the manual transmission, even if EPA calculations show the CVT with better mileage. I know reading this forum before buying my Mirage certainly influenced my automatic/manual decision.

I'd be surprised if there was more than a 10% take rate for the manual Mirage in Canada/U.S. But manual drivers are over-represented on car forums generally, since "enthusiast" and "manual driver" often go together.

FYI, the split in the fuel economy log is now:

    1.2L CVT
    55 cars

    1.2L manual
    56 cars

    1.0L manual
    3 cars

Also... the fuel log passed 1 million kilometers last week!

It All depends How you Drive..... If you always try to go real Fast from the stop sign to the speed limit, or are always going over the speed limit everywhere . Like I see around the Pacific Northwest people are in a Hurry All the Time! No matter where you go.that will affect your mpg. Or if your a person who gradually gets the car up to the speed limit , you would Get Better Mpg,s

Wonder if anyone from Mitsubishi Corporate ever looks at these fuel usage numbers.

    1 million km

I've mentioned it before in e-mails to their PR people. Not sure if that goes anywhere though.

    ===

And we passed 1 million KM / 600k miles tracked this month. Impressive!

Thanks to everyone who is adding their numbers to the data.

I'd like to apologize to the whole team and admit my shame. I got the worst tank ever last time, and it was mostly my own silly mistake - I thought the tires "looked fine" for pressure. As we all know, you can't do that, and when I put the gauge on them my winter tires were running very low. Of course the winters have more rolling resistance, driving through snow and cold starts also contributed, but I scored a 6.7L/100, and some of that was highway, so I think it is mostly my own fault. I'll try to do better next time!
