Yes, I am going to take my 17' in for a check after I hit a few free checks. I'll update here 😃

    2017 G4 sedan

    For what it's worth...

I did a quick 'n' dirty toe check on the the G4 sedan I'm currently driving: I laid a 5-foot long straight edge against the rear wheels, projecting forward alongside the rocker panel on each side. The gap between the rocker & straight edge was the same on both sides.

So either it's off equally on both sides, or it's OK.

Or the rocker panels are warped as much as the toe adjustment.

Not of my stone-age alignment check itself.

But here's what the 2017 G4 sedan rear axle/wheel area looks like. Same as the hatch, as far as I can tell:

Wanted to put my new wheels on and decided to get a check on the ol alignment and looky looky...
Ugh the suspension on this thing sucks. No adjustment on the rear and nothing but toe on the front?

That looks exactly the same as in the previous models.

For what it's worth, I checked the rear axle on my 2017 Mirage hatchback with my TrackAce laser alignment tool and found it at 15 minutes of total toe-in which is the same as 0.25 degrees of total toe-in. This tool can only measure total toe-in, not individual sides. I don't know what the alignment specs are for the 17 but if they the same as the older models then mine seems to be close to the middle of the range for total toe-in. The front had a tiny bit of toe out which i corrected by rotating each tie rod adjuster by 45 degrees (almost one flat on the adjuster) to bring it to 0 toe-in.

I just looked up a video of TrackAce on youtube. Very cool! Thanks for posting about it. Mind if I ask where you got yours?

I got the TrackAce at Demon Tweeks in the UK. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motors...lignment-gauge It was the cheapest I could find there, even with shipping. Amazingly it only took two days to get here in West Virginia.

    Replacement axle

    Got my new axle today.

    Before - NTB

    Dealer:

    After - Dealer:

Looks like things turned out okay. I hope to get these numbers verified before too long.

I dropped my car off at my dealer (Sunnyside Mitsubishi) Tuesday afternoon, and was given an Outlander as a loaner. I was called a little after 11:00 yesterday morning when the job was completed. Thanks again Sunnyside for taking good care of me.

I suppose I should register my vote now in this thread's poll...
