Today they gave me a loaner 2012 Lancer. Mitsubishi want's to do an exhaustive inspection of the car and have pictures taken.
I can hear almost the same road noise inside the Lancer, but steering is expectedly much more stable (electric?). MPG in the 20's (

Taking my wifes in to the dealer on the 23rd to have the alignment looked at the stearing wheel is not centered...
Just adding another case to the rest of them.
Brand new 15 mirage with 210 miles on it. Customer basically just bought it drove it home and today brought it back for alignment due to the steering wheel slightly off center.
Guess what the rear axle looked like?
Double printout so we can pester Mitsubishi with one of them.
Like I said before, sofar every single mirage we put on the alignment machine is out of specs on the rear. This one here is the best one I've seen sofar.

slightly OT but wow! the mileage on your fuel log is truly impressive.
I took mine in today for an alignment check and will post the results.

This is a bummer. But good to know, I guess.
That is one thing I wish I had known about my Focus before I got it - from the factory the rears have a bit of toe-out ... but some of them are just crazy. I had one and I was burning off rear tires in a similar fashion.
The hard to comprehend part is the fact that its' not adjustable. I know on some of the GM products it was as easy as shimming ... guess not so much on this.
SO .... what are the options for finding a 4x100 trailer axle and rigging it under the back of the Mirage with leaf springs ...
I just got the call from the dealer. Mine is the first one they have done an alignment on as mine is the highest mileage they have seen (right at 30k)
The service guy's voice was shaky... he said, um sir, your car is out of alignment in a couple spots, um and.. um there is no way for us to adjust it...
I said yeahhhh, I knew you were going to say that... ugggh
