Rattles?

i'm scared to ask.... but what piston ring issues are you referring to?

Maybe its not piston rings per se... but many of the 80's and 90's Mitsu engines would tend to throw out clouds of smoke from burning oil. Granted this was mostly at 150,000 miles+ but compared to other Japanese engines at the time it was pretty premature.

I've had my Mirage for almost a year now with 13,000 miles on the clock. The only rattles that I have heard have been due to things that I put in the cup holders and in the doors, especially when I turn the volume up on the radio. But, my front speakers are not stock and I have a subwoofer under the passenger seat that help to cause everything to rattle more.

Only rattles or noises from the dash for me is when it's cold outside... When it's warm, or once the car inside is warm.. it's virtually quiet.. And that's with 38000 miles and 14 months.

I have a little over 10,000 miles (16200 KM) and no rattles.

If you bog down my manual the exhaust sounds like it bangs against something, interior I haven't had any rattles, I did have a strange blower noise caused by ice that may have fallen into my fan assembly.. it went away after a few days. I have read that the usb cable in the glove box can rattle if dangling.

I seem to have the same problem about the exhaust banging on something? Have you tried to fix this?

NO rattles in mine! Just Hum,s like a kitten.....
