The first 50,000 Miles / 80,000 km (highest miles Mirage?)

    I bought a 2014 Mirage de Manual on Jan 6thish 2014.
I do oil changes at the max limit of 7500 Miles since all my driving is highway miles(2 minutes off the freeway from my house and work is 3 minutes off the freeway).
Well I got past 50000 miles about a month ago and I have to say that I am impressed. I havent had any major issues and have gotten all the services done at either Mitsu or myself. The car is still running well albeit a bit loud on the engine noise. I also seem to have something loose on the rear suspension that I plan on looking at tomorrow. It doesn't feel like something is falling off but it sounds like something is shifting. That could be due to the lowering springs but will determine that when I get in there. The car still feels peppy. Not "embedded in your seat" fast but it will get me where I need to be. I used to hypermile and was able to achieve 76 mpgs at my best and was averaging about 68 most the time last summer. Since then I have actually killed my mileage cause my drive is already long enough without adding time for hypermiling. My version of hypermiling was very basic. Had Re92 stock sized tires pumped up to 65PSi, drove 55ish down the highway(its 70 speed limit btw) Neutral coasted down the bigger hills(Don't have the balls to go full engine shutoff) and accelerated slowly. I will say I don't know how people can devote their lives to this kind of driving, it is a lot of work and is really boring. I made it a game for awhile and when I was unable to get passed 76MPGS I kinda got bored with it. Now I drive a bit fast and get around normal mpgs(40-42). I drive 89 miles each way so hypermiling was adding almost 30 minutes to my drives. It was just too much. Anyways the car is still driving well. The engine doesn't feel like its experiencing any loss in power according to the butt dyno. Be good to the car and the car will be good to you.
I hope you enjoyed the read. Sometimes I tend to be a bit scatterbrained so Im sorry if this post is all over the place.

Nice quick review. I know you're one of the higher (if not the highest) mileage users here. Thanks for the feedback!

    Congrats!!

Agreed. I will use every technique in the book on shorter drives, but for longer highway trips, I will just set the cruise at or near the limit and go. Although if I'm in "city" traffic at either end of the drive, I resume using appropriate techniques.

The only cars I can think of that might have more miles than yours...

Just rolled 50k on my 2017, purchased new May 2016.

On my 4th set of rims (the final set), and besides normal maintenance (coming up on my 2nd CVT service), not a single issue to report. I'm averaging about 36 mpg overall. She's been on a 2k and 10k roadtrip (hit every state west of Mississippi) and is an able road trip car.

    Still love this little beast.
