A lot of you have been tracking the development of this product in my thread: Developing a mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor) housing for custom air intakes. These are now for sale. These can be used to make your own custom intake for your Mirage.

What you get is what you see above, it is a MAF sensor housing. It will clamp to the OEM rubber U-shaped tube as shown in the pictures below. Then, you can add whatever you want for your own intake. Both of the ends of the housing are 2" in (outer) diameter.

Here are some images of the intake kit I put together for testing the MAF housing:

Thanks Alex. I tried to keep it as affordable as I could. These parts actually take a very long time to print on the printer, so I can't even make them real quick.

The MAF housing itself has no benefit other than allowing you to run a custom intake on the car. The original MAF housing is integrated into the airbox, so you'd have to chop it up to run a custom intake.

As for the benefits of a custom intake, there probably are performance gains to be had. We're still tinkering around with the test one, so the gains remain to be seen. As far as mpg goes, I wouldn't claim it helps unless maybe you went with a long tube intake and/or warm air intake.

I wouldn't want the problems the guy in this thread has. Why mess with it, if it doesn't provide any advantage of MPG or performance?

Mine is working like a charm. No ill effects. Still same MPG with the new custom intake. Great product!
