Then I'll toss the gas. The other stuff will go very tightly packed.

You'll have mountains in Colorado and Utah.

I edited my post to you, so you might have missed my last response. Don't you have the 5 year roadside service though Mitsu? That would save you really needing the coolant. And if you ran out of gas, you only pay for the gas, but Mitsu pays for the tow truck to bring it to you.

You're right! I had forgotten about the free Roadside Assistance.

Are gas stations too distant from each other in the most desolate areas? How hot does it get in the deserts?

Has anyone used the roadside assistance? How long did it take to get the service? I have AAA and it normally takes 2-4 hours to get service especially if you are out on the interstate.

I'm home! Man, what a trip! 6 days of driving and 5 days of visit. We were going to stay another week, then AZ rain storms rolled in and it got too muggy so we left.

This time, instead of driving 70MPH, I set the cruise at 65. Used the A/C through the whole trip. Avg MPG was 42.34 on trip back. I did go a slightly different route coming back ( went through Roswell NM ). Not sure if the different route or the 65MPH were the reason I got almost 3.5 MPG improvement overall. The difference in RPM's between 70 and 65 are only about 250.

Forgot to add total fuel used on way back: 41.87. I am at 1/2 tank right now ( refused to pay the current $2.99 a gal, going to wait until the price goes back down ( I hope )). My fuel gauge has been pretty accurate, so adding 4 gals and I used a total of about 46 gals. That's a savings of 7 gals over what I used on the way down to AZ.

Fuel cost on way back $119.76
Total fuel cost round trip $255.16
