i made a bracket that fits under the coup holder , used a piece of solder wire to get the shape and then used some 1/8''x3/4'' steel flat stock .

Drilled and tapped 1/4-20 as seen here

then drilled clearance holes throughout the bottom of the arm rest and the coup holder , then i marked the flat stock and drilled and tapped 1/4-20 , used a little blue locktite on the bolts and the side to side wobble is at a minimum , there still is a little but i can live with it

On a side note the piano black on the dash is great , you don't need the little wafer to mount your GPS on there , just stick it on.

Last time we were at the Dealer (for the first oil change) the wife was looking at the Outlander. I took a peek inside and noticed that the Dead Pedal area you are talking about has a nice plastic cover on it and it would work perfectly in the Mirage. I was suprised they didnt add it to the floor carpet as part of the factory install because i agree with MetroMPG it will wear out faster, especialy on the corner. I think the Manual owners will notice this sooner as they are moving their feet more often. I did mention it to the dealer too.

Two items although a bit off topic

....otherwise the car is perfect for me anyway...there were no door handles for either of the two back doors to hang laundry from the dry cleaners...I rectified that from Amazon that had an attachment for either of the two front headrests to do the job...but doesn't anyone believe in locking glove boxes any more for at least a little additional security for the interior of the car....my last three cars had the same issue...I could probably do a fix for that since I'm handy enough but really would prefer an aftermarket fix that might be somewhat cosmetically better....

Crud. Looks like upflyer posted the images to a 3rd party image hosting service, and now they're gone.

This is why people should post attachments, and not use image hosting sites.

I'm interested to see how these mods turned out, is there any way you could re-upload them as attachments?
